If you have read my last Rio Hair Remover post, you will know it is really only day 9 for the left side of my bikini line, and day 8 for the right side, but i do not think there is much (any) difference between them.
Just a few minutes before sitting down to write the post on today’s experience with the Rio Machine, I talked briefly with my mother via msn. I have copied and pasted here the part regarding Rio because it pretty much summarized my feelings at the moment. I have kept the conversation in Spanish which is how it took place, and I have translated freely into English underneath.
(22:07:27) mother: ya vi que estan muy interesado con tu depilacion
I saw they are very interested in your depilation
(22:07:32) LadyRostand: a que si????
Aren’t they???
(22:07:47) mother: si, asi que ponle mas enfasis positivo
Yes, so write with a more positive attitude
(22:07:51) LadyRostand: pero no voy a mentir!
But I am not going to lie!
(22:07:57) LadyRostand: el problema es que yo que me he aburrido ya…
The problem is I am already bored (of the whole process)
(22:08:28) mother: ya, pero yo estoy segura de que funciona, el problema eres tu que quieres resultados inmediatos
I know, buy I am sure it works, the problem is you, because you want immediate results
Constancy is not one my strengths, true, specially if there are no obvious advantages to it. When I bought the Rio Laser machine, I wanted to be able to stop having to shave (duh, you may think). And preferably within a couple of sessions. True as well. Sure, I read that it requires patience and multiple sessions… but as always, I thought: sure! no problem! But after a couple of weeks it’s like, ok, I’m bored, and the hairs continue to grow unperturbed by my attacks… With today’s session, I have lasered my bikini line 9 times in almost 5 months. So, about twice per month. The results? The demise of some isolated hairs.
So, yes, my mother is right: I want results fast and without too much effort from my part. And yes, if it weren’t for you: The Aymster, Anna, Monique, Sebastian… I would have stopped using the Rio Laser months ago already. So thank you! When the results take time, it is always so much easier to do anything if there are people encouraging you…
So, with summer a month away, it is time to do some emergency planning from the experience gained. The Rio Laser Hair Remover Machine is NOT going to make me bikini-line hairless by the 1st of July. Specially if I keep finding it more and more difficult to get myself to use the machine because of it’s tediousness. Ok. But, what it CAN do, is remove those hairs that appear near the bikini line, by themselves and, of course, because they are extra black, they tend to stay perpendicular to the leg and have the ability to make themselves extra conspicuous. Now, I have seen it work against isolated hairs. I can perfectly point half a dozen places in my body where there was a hair that would every second week appear and say “hi there, I am back” (with a nasty tiny grin, I must add) and now are hairless (HA! I could have shouted to those now gone hairs, but didn’t for fear of sounding too crazy).
So we have a plan for the bikini like, ladies and gentlemen. I will still have to shave most of the bikini-line this summer, but oh, those nasty isolated hairs (like the sneaky single black one that appears under my bellybutton) are going down!

Thank you LadyRostand for these informative and entertaining reports! What would you say the percentage of hairs that have stopped growing is? Also for the treated but remaining hairs, are they any thinner or lighter? Thank you and keep it up!
Thank you iworms for your comments! I am glad I am obtaining my aim of entertaining while informing
I have not noticed any thinner or lighter hairs so far, to be honest. Those that appear affected, just stopped growing. And that I can really see, because in a couple of cases, I can actually see where they were supposed to come out from!
As far as percentage of hairs that have stopped growing… I can’t say really… but my guess-estimate would be about 10% at the moment. It doesn’t sound like much, does it? I will think about it a bit more (ie calculate better) by my next post.
I may start my own posting on the NO!NO! I just got it today and have had much success. But over a long period of time… Who knows?
Hey LadyRostand
just wanted to thank u, it sounds a lot of hard work and require patience as well, I was wondering if u have come across any reviews about TRIA laser hair removal system? I am in toronto, Canada and i dont think they are available here yet, and is quite pricey i think around 695 euros?…gulp,
but kudos to u for all the work and keeping us all updated:)
and The Aymster thanks in advance for letting us know
about the NONO,
I have a freind who spent more then 7 grand on professional laser removal at salon is back to shaving after umm..may be after 6-7 years…wow all that money…wasted:( and os been telling me not to waste my money if in long term i have to back to waxing and shaving, so my hopes are high that one day we all will have our own hand held laser devices that will work!!!
Hi again The Aymster! Would you like to guest blog in olivetalks with your impressions on the NO!NO! machine? I am assuming you do not work for the company, of course. Or if you decide to start your own blog, let me know!
Thank you Anna! I have to admit that if it weren’t for the olivetalks postings, I would have stopped using the Rio Machine out of boredom… The readers’ visits keep me going!
I have not heard anything about the TRIA laser hair remover. I will have a look around. It would be interesting to have reviews equivalent to mine on NoNo and TRIA to compare, don’t you think?
A message to the NoNo and TRIA companies: if you send me a machine for free, I will try them and comment on them as well! A leg for Rio, a leg for TRIA, the bikini line for NoNo, he he he.
Regarding your friend Anna, it sounds like going to a salon does not guarantee a permanent solution either. Pity. But to be honest, 6 years of hair-free bikini line still sounds pretty good to me at the moment
I did start my own blog, but I’d be happy to move it to Olive talks if you like. I was hoping you’d ask!
He he he, good I asked then
If it’s ok with you The Aymster, I will contact you via email to sort out the details. Alright?
Sounds like a plan!
